Lifetime Exchange and Buyback

Effective date: 20 April 2026

MyCarat operates two lifetime programmes for customers of Nemidium Diamonds and Jewellery LLP:

  • Lifetime Exchange — trade in any MyCarat piece for credit towards a new one.
  • Lifetime Gold Buyback — trade in gold jewellery from any jeweller (not just MyCarat) for credit.

Credit from both programmes is issued to your GoldBack wallet and can be redeemed against any future MyCarat purchase, at any time.

What you get back

For MyCarat pieces

  • Gold: 100% of today's gold rate for the measured weight and purity.
  • Diamonds and gemstones: current market value based on your original IGI or certified-lab grading.
  • Making charges: not refunded.
  • If the piece was originally bought under a promotional discount, credit is calculated on the discounted price you actually paid, not the list price.

For non-MyCarat pieces (Gold Buyback)

  • Gold only is valued — at today's rate for measured weight and purity.
  • Diamonds and gemstones are not paid for. You have two choices:
    • Take them back with you, or
    • Have them repurposed into your new MyCarat piece (a nominal diamond-setting fee per carat applies).
  • Diamond-setting fees for repurposing are waived if the stones came from a MyCarat piece.

How it works

  1. Tentative valuation. Share your original invoice, certificate, and/or weight. We provide a preliminary valuation.
  2. Your go-ahead. You approve the tentative valuation before we proceed.
  3. Melting and final valuation. Gold is melted and weighed precisely. The final gold value is calculated at today's IBJA rate.
  4. Credit to wallet. The final amount is credited to your GoldBack wallet.
  5. Shop any time. Use the credit on any MyCarat piece, whenever you are ready.
  6. Stones decision. Any diamonds or gemstones we have not purchased are either returned to you or retained for repurposing in your new MyCarat piece — your choice.

Using your exchange credit

  • No minimum purchase multiplier. The new piece does not have to be larger than your exchange credit.
  • If the new piece costs more than your credit, you pay the difference.
  • If the new piece costs less than your credit, the balance remains in your GoldBack wallet for future use.

Processing fee

  • Rs 3,500 flat when the original certificate and invoice are both available.
  • Rs 4,500 flat when the certificate or invoice is missing.

Eligibility and conditions

  • The piece must be undamaged, not melted, and not altered by a third-party jeweller.
  • If the original purchase included a free gift or promotional add-on, the gift must be returned or its value deducted from the credit.
  • Valuations are conducted by MyCarat and confirmed by the customer before melting.
